We breed horses that are genetically engineered to succeed in a chosen discipline. Our multidisciplinary expertise uniquely positions us to examine the talent, pedigree, confirmation, and attitude of both the stallion and the dam to create a foal that expresses the strengths of both bloodlines.
At NPH we believe that it is possible to make even a mediocre horse a champion with hard work and even harder training. Every horse thinks and learns differently, it is important to figure this out about each horse early on so the program can be tailored to that horse. Just like humans no two horses are going to learn and think the same so it is important to think outside the box to allow every horse to learn.
Each and every horse whether it is a reiner, cow horse, show jumper or event prospect will all learn the same basic skills and have the same life experiences as a young horse. They will go to brandings, learn how to rope a cow, go riding out on the ranch. Brandings will give the young horse experience with groups of horses, loud noises and hard work. Getting a rope thrown off of them will desensitize them to things being thrown around on top of them. Riding out on the ranch in all sorts of terrain will make a horse sure footed and help them not get ring sour.
We work hard and smart. We take the time to get to know how each individual horse learns and tailor their education to meet their needs. We use our unique multidisciplinary approach on the ground and in the saddle to create great athletes who are also trusted companions.
Taryn and Justin bring together two worlds to make one really solid team. Taryn comes from a hunter/jumper/eventing background jumping through the 1.50 national grand prixs and 4* level eventing. Her passion is developing young horses from their first jump to the top of the sport. Justin comes from a very diverse background in the western performance and rodeo world. He has competed very successfully in the reined cowhorse futurities, reining, cutting, team roping, saddle bronc, calf roping and colt starting competitions. They bring their two worlds together to breed, train and produce top horses in both worlds. Both Taryn and Justin also enjoy helping their clients learn and grow into better riders and horsemen.
The business could not run without Myka, she does it all around here! She is Taryn's right handman and assitant of all things from collecting stallions, breeding mares, foaling babies, cleaning stalls, managing day to day barn chores, riding whatever we put her on. Every barn needs a Myka.
Team NPH's biggest cheerleader and future head trainer!
